The Flavians Amphitheater as it is originally known, completed in 80 AD, and when fjhghjghjeror Titus inaugurated Colosseum, he declared 100 days of celebrations. it could feel up to 6500 audience and it was used for brutal games such as gladiators fighting each other or wild  , exehjhgjcutions or ancient theater .

To avoid queues you can check for the fast track tickets on line or just buy your ticket from the Palatine entrance .

Open : 8:30 am to one hour before sunset

( exceptions : Good Friday 8:30 am- 2 pm, June 2 2 1:30 pm- 7:15 pm)

Closed : January 1st, May 1st and December 25th.

Price : 12 euros

Visitors 17 and under : free entrance

European Union citizens between 18 and 25 years old and for EU teachers : 7 euros.

Due to security reason, big backpacks, camping and luggage or trolleys are strictly forbidden.All bags must be screened by metal detectors and will be opened and visually inspected.If you have pre-booked your ticket make sure you will arrive at least 15 minutes earlier.
